Andy studied at the Newark School of Violin Making (NSVM). NSVM counts among its distinguished graduates John Dilworth and Roger Hargraves. NSVM is also internationally famous for its high level of education in making and restoration of stringed instruments.
During his years in the UK, Andy worked as senior restorer at Chapel Violins and gained working experience with other violin makers and restorers, including John Gosling, Neil Ertz and Andreas Hudelmayer.
Andy graduated with merit and then returned to Hong Kong in 2014. The same year, Andy founded Violin Lounge with a primary focus on both education and restoration. As part of his education work, Andy continues to give lectures in local schools and overseas. Andy's contributions can be found in the following publications:

Considered as one of the most talented violin maker of his generation, Balzarini won first prize for cello at the 5th Cremona International Triennale at the age of 26 and received two other gold medals in the same competition for the maker 'under 30' and for the instrument with the best sound. Unforunately, the young maestro died at the age of 40 and made less than 100 instruments. This violin illustrates the maker's fine skill and choice of wood is excellent. The violin is in mint condition.

This violin was loaned to a local musical genius, Mr. Wong Ka Jing, who featured in the movie KJ: Music and Life. Being in a violin making family in Markneukirken, Johann Christian Ficker (II) was amongst the best makers of his family.

Being the teacher of many good Hungarian makers of his generation, Paul Pilat (I) has won medals in Budapest and in Paris and he was also the appointed maker to the Hungarian Royal Court. Truly one of the iconic figures in Hungarian violin making history. Collection of a well respected local musician.

Daniela is a talented maker from the Violinmaking School in Cremona. She studied under Giorgio Scolari and worked with Gianluca Zanetti. Such experience results in the crisp and clean woodwork of instruments made by her. She won in the Second National Violinmaking Competition of Citta di Pisogne.

Being the vice president of the violin making school in Cremona and the president of the Consortium of Violinmaking 'Antonio Stradivari' Cremona, Maestro Scolari has long been regarded as one of the finest Cremonese maker of his generation. This attractive viola was made in 1975, one year before the maker won in the 1st Triennale competition.
