Andy studied at the Newark School of Violin Making (NSVM). NSVM counts among its distinguished graduates John Dilworth and Roger Hargraves. NSVM is also internationally famous for its high level of education in making and restoration of stringed instruments.
During his years in the UK, Andy worked as senior restorer at Chapel Violins and gained working experience with other violin makers and restorers, including John Gosling, Neil Ertz and Andreas Hudelmayer.
Andy graduated with merit and then returned to Hong Kong in 2014. The same year, Andy founded Violin Lounge with a primary focus on both education and restoration. As part of his education work, Andy continues to give lectures in local schools and overseas. Andy's contributions can be found in the following publications:
